I really do feel sorry for Sasha. Reading these books as a trilogy - if it hadn't hit you by this book just how hard her life has been, then you're probably lacking a bit of empathy. She really has nothing going for her. Everyone she loves dies or has to be left behind, and in the end all she is left with is an ironic hanging onto love for an abusive, murderous tom. The art and pacing of this trilogy is more than a little dodgy, but the message is still there: Sasha is one of the strongestHOW DARE THEY KILL TADPOLE D:<

Like with the previous manga in the Warriors series, I wasn't terribly impressed by the art, and the writing style just doesn't really translate all that well. It is a nice way to get more of the background on characters, however, especially when they do factor pretty big into the series itself like Sasha. It was worth taking the short time to read through it for that alone.
Sasha has given birth to Tigerstar's kits, Hawk, Moth, and Tadpole. Tragically, Tadpole dies in a flood. Mourning and convinced she can't take care of her own kits, Sasha seeks refuge in Riverclan. Soon after, Leopardstar makes Mothpaw and Hawkpaw apprentices. But Sasha doesn't feel like taking a warrior name after the incidents of Tigerstar and Shadowclan, and leaves her kits in Riverclan to complete their own destiny in the Clans while she continues life as a rogue.
I think I liked book #2 the best but this was pretty cool also. Sasha really comes into herself and her strength but she goes through many sorrows first. There are a few moments where I go "why did you do that, stupid!" but mostly it was great. Would give 3.5 stars if could.(view spoiler)[So she goes back to her old nest but is scared of Tigerstar finding her and his kits and forcing them into Shadowclan (so why does she go back to her old nest???? lucky for her Tigerstar is dead!)
