Representaion Toward Books The Reach Between Worlds (The Arclight Saga #1)
Taro lost his right leg years ago, but with a family to support, he doesn’t let it slow him down. For years he’s worked for a notorious crime lord named Victor Mathan. Mathan deals in stolen magical artifacts and trusts Taro to finish his work with as few questions as possible. When an absurdly well-paying job comes up, Taro is quick to volunteer. Mathan wants him to break a powerful sorceress out of jail, but her prison is under the control of an ancient military order called the Magisterium. To get to her, Taro must pose as a Magisterium recruit. The courses are grueling, the trials drive students mad, and the magic they teach can be as deadly to the caster as it is to the target.

Great story, awesome characters , looking forward to getting my hands on the second book!Almost went to Hogwarts for a minute...This book could have easily become a Harry Potter copycat. For a bit, as the magic classes and new monsters were described, I thought we actually HAD taken a side trip to Hogwarts' darker alter ego. A magical illusion that makes a room seem like the great outdoors, shifting corridors and stairways... very Rowlingesque. But all of that detail turned out to be important, so all's good. The world is well imagined and easy to believe in. The magic is well done,
The story flow is great, very hard to put down. I'm dying to get book 3, questions I need answers to. I will read anything he writes. An author to watch.

I love books that catch you by surprise. I've been trying to slowly whittle away at my vast collection of books on my kindle (and I've been heartily abusing my KU inbetween) and didn't expect much from this book. However, it blew me away with its unsuspecting web of plots and the characters were all phenomenal. I can't wait to read more!
Book one of the Arclight Saga, The Reach Between Worlds is a gritty fantasy novel with a bit of steampunk mixed in. The book follows Taro, a generally good kid who gets mixed up with bad people and does bad things to provide for his family while his parents are sick. He spends the majority of the book playing both sides, and while he does take his fair share of abuse, he ends up right as you expect him to at the end.I felt this book has a few problems: It is in desperate need of an editor. There
AFun read. Occasionally a little juvenile for my tastes, but overall a quality read. Enjoyed the world and the characters.
AmazingA great book from young Master Haden! Very well put together. The book has a great magic system. Characters are very real and likable. Can't wait for book 2!
